William Crooker

Had a warm heart, infectious smile and charming personality

MELROSE — William (Billy) Crooker passed away suddenly at his home on December 14, 2021.

He was born on January 11, 1966 in Medford. He later moved to California and New York before settling in Newark, New Jersey.

He worked for many years at Ben’s Delicatessen and Restaurant in Times Square, where his warm heart, infectious smile and charming personality led him to make some amazing friends and adoring customers. He was loved by many and will truly be missed.

William is preceded in death by his father William and mother Tina (Lattanzi). He is survived by two sisters, Maria of Lynn and Julia of Malden; two nieces, Tiana Thomas of Peabody and Elisha Thomas of Lynn; a nephew, Cjay Thomas of Lynn; three great nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and great friends who loved him dearly.

A memorial service will be held at Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on Sunday, December 26, 2021 from 1 – 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the National Suicide Prevention Hotline. To leave an online message of condolence, please visit gatelyfh.com.
