SATURDAY, February 22 was the reenactment of Leslie’s Retreat in Salem presented by the Massachusetts 250 organization. This was one of the pivotal pre-Revolutionary War confrontations that marked Salem’s first armed resistance to British authority. Massachusetts 250 is a statewide, ongoing celebration of our history and everything that makes our state special. Officials launching the campaign fell it will draw visitors, drive local economies and share the whole story of Massachusetts and our nation through the voices of every community.
