ANDOVER — Memory Café, a caregiver support program offered by Mystic Valley Elder Services (MVES), has been traveling this fall!

Memory Cafés bring together people with memory loss and their family caregivers to share positive experiences and build support networks. A recent Memory Café outing included a visit to Ironstone Farm, a therapeutic horse farm in Andover. Participants had a great time bonding with each other and their new equine friends under the guidance of the Ironstone staff.

Local families from North Reading, Reading, Stoneham, Wakefield and surrounding communities in the MVES network were invited to attend one of two sessions at the farm thanks to the joint sponsorship of the program provided by MVES and the Stoneham and Reading Councils on Aging.

Since 1975, MVES has provided services and supports for older adults, people with disabilities, and their caregivers in communities in the Greater Boston and north of Boston areas. The non-profit agency strives to ensure that all individuals have the resources they need to live independently and with dignity. Services include options counseling, home care, elder protective services, health insurance counseling, caregiver supports, transportation, Meals on Wheels and more. For more information, visit www.mves.org or call 781-324-7705.
