March Madness Final Four contest open

MELROSE—The Melrose Weekly News is hosting its inaugural March Madness Final Four contest this year.

Contestants will pick their Final Four teams for the 2021 March Madness Tournament as well as the National Champion and final score of the championship  game.

The winner will be determined by who gets the most number of correct Final Four teams. The National champion pick and championship game score prediction will act as tiebreakers.

One grand prize of $200 will be awarded to the winner, courtesy of Designer Lawn Sprinkler Services. All contestants must agree to have their photos appear in the Melrose Weekly News in order to receive the prize.

To be eligible, the form printed in these pages must be filled out, mailed or dropped off to the Wakefield Daily Item/Melrose Weekly News office at 26 Albion Street by Wednesday, March 23 at 10 a.m. Any entry received after this time will be disqualified. There will be a drop-off box located at the entry of the office for in-person submissions. The contest is free to play. Each contestant can only submit one form. The name and phone number of the contestant must be clearly written somewhere on the bracket.

In addition to the bracket printed today, the Melrose Weekly News will print the bracket every week until the Final Four which will start on Saturday, April 2. The bracket for this year’s tournament was announced earlier this week on Selection Sunday. The four number one seeds are Gonzaga, Baylor, Arizona and Kansas.
