PLAISTOW — It was a good night for the North Reading-Andover High co-op gymnastics team on Jan. 29 as they beat host Haverhill, 141.35- 128.25, at the Plaistow (New Hampshire) YMCA.

With that victory, the Warnets ended the regular season at 7-1 as they came in second place in the Merrimack Valley Conference behind Central Catholic.

“It was our season-high score and our best performance of the year on bars,” pointed out Warnets head coach Marlena Bresnick.

Alex Lee led the way winning the all around with a score of 36.4. The North Reading freshman came in first in the vault (9.2), bars (8.9) and balance beam (9.2).

She came in third on the floor exercise with a score of 9.1.

“It was another great performance by Alex,” said Bresnick.

North Reading freshman, Chloe DeAngelis, came in third in the all-around with a total score of 31.8.

“This is only her second meet that she did the all-around,” said Bresnick. “She is a great start-off girl for us and she stepped up.”

Alexis Ciavardone was first on the floor (9.25) and she had a pair of third-place finishes on the bars (8.8) and on the beam (8.85).

Olivia Moccia was second on the bars (8.85) while Kelsie Berry captured second on the beam (9.1).

“Kelsie had stellar performance on both the bars and beam and Alexis, as always, with a great floor performance but also competing on a new bar routine this meet with a personal best score,” said Bresnick.

Izzy Laski tied for third in the vault with an 8.6.

The next meet for the team will be the MVC championship meet hosted at A2 in Salem, NH on Thursday night. The meet is slated to begin at 5 p.m.
