NORTH READING — Plans are moving along for the Annual Townwide Yard Sale on Saturday, May 3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Pink flyers are out around town as a reminder that there is still time to clean out the attic and garage, and make money from that clutter that we all walk past daily. “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure” as the saying goes.
The deadline for submitting your application to be located on the map is Friday, April 18. The inside spaces at the Town Hall are full, but there are a few spaces left at the Senior Center as an alternate indoor space. Any residential map requests submitted after the April 18 deadline will appear only on the electronic map.
Applications can be found on the town’s website (northreadingma.gov), by scanning the QR code on the pink fliers, by picking up a paper copy at the Edith O’Leary Senior Center, or by calling Joann at 978-664-0195.
Remember that for a small donation the Friends of the North Reading Council on Aging do all of the multimedia publicity and your location will be noted on a map available both online and for distribution the week before the sale. This ensures that customers can be prepared to find the best deals. The Friends have had as many as 93 participants in the Townwide Yard Sale in previous years.
This event draws customers from far and wide since the Friends multimedia publicity is quite extensive. It is the only fundraiser held by the Friends of the North Reading Council on Aging and proceeds enable this group of volunteers to provide financial support to the town’s Senior Center to pay for programming and necessities that are not included in the town’s budget.
