Extended hours at Town Hall, Senior Center, Library to accommodate holiday closures

NORTH READING — Holiday scheduling at Town Hall, the Edith O’Leary Senior Center and Flint Memorial Library will vary during the weeks of Dec. 22 and Dec. 29 to accommodate building closures for non-emergency personnel on Friday, Dec. 26 and Friday, Jan. 2 following the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

Town Hall and Senior Center staff will make up the time by extending their work hours by 2 1/2 hours on four designated Tuesdays, allowing residents additional access to services. Town Hall and the Senior Center will be open until 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings, Nov. 18, Dec. 2, Dec. 9, and Dec. 16.

The complete schedule at Town Hall and the Senior Center for the weeks of Dec. 22 and Dec. 29 is as follows:

• Monday, Dec. 22: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Tuesday, Dec. 23: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Wednesday, Dec. 24: 8 a.m. to 12 noon

• Thursday, Dec. 25 — Sunday, Dec. 28: Closed

• Monday, Dec. 29 — Wednesday, Dec. 31: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Thursday, Jan. 1 through Sunday, Jan. 4: Closed

• Monday, Jan. 5: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Library to open one hour earlier

Similarly, the Flint Memorial Library will open to the public one hour earlier, at 9 a.m., from Wednesday, Dec. 10 through Wednesday, Dec. 31. The following is the schedule for library for the weeks of Dec. 22 and Dec. 29:

• Monday, Dec. 22 and Tuesday, Dec. 23: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Wednesday, Dec. 24: 9 a.m. to 12 noon

• Thursday, Dec. 25 — Sunday, Dec. 28: Closed

• Monday, Dec. 29 — Tuesday, Dec. 30: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Wednesday, Dec. 31: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Thursday, Jan. 1 and Friday, Jan. 2: Closed

• Saturday, Jan. 3: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Sunday, Jan. 4: Closed

• Monday, Jan. 5: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly and take advantage of the extended service hours in the weeks leading up to the holidays,” stated Town Administrator Michael Gilleberto.
