NORTH READING — All are invited to attend the North Reading Garden Club’s biggest event of the year, its annual Silver Tea. Entitled “Hats Off To Spring,” it will be held next Wednesday, April 10 at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) at the Moose Lodge, 140 North St.
The featured presenter is Cindy Mattson, owner of Given Erwin Florist in Burlington. Mattson received her certification from the American Institute of Floral Design. She teaches classes at her flower shop and also at Middlesex Community College, in addition to conducting presentations for garden clubs, women’s groups, and corporate employee enrichment programs. Her flower shop is busy with weddings, private parties, events and funeral work.
The Spring Silver Tea includes a buffet of delectable desserts as well as creatively themed gift baskets and centerpieces, beautiful spring arrangements, and fascinator hats created by Mattson at the event which will be raffled off at the end of the presentation.
Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door and can be obtained by contacting Margie Salt at 978-337-6698 or Maggie Hagerty at 978-664-2995.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the North Reading Garden Club’s numerous community projects ranging from a college scholarship, essay and poetry contests for students, garden therapy at the Royal Meadow View Nursing Home, Arbor Day tree planting at the town’s parks, sponsored Adopt an Island program and plantings at Ipswich River Park.
“The North Reading Garden Club takes pride in North Reading and would love to have you join us for a fun evening to celebrate spring! All are welcome,” said club member Sue Kramer
