NORTH READING — The NRHS boys’ lacrosse team remained red hot as they pushed their winning streak to five games with their 20-9 destruction of the Triton Vikings on May 1.
Junior Sean Fagen paced the offense with 4 goals and 5 assists. Junior Mike Sheridan was terrific as well with 5 goals and 3 assists. Senior captain Kevin Murphy potted 5 goals while junior Travis Spencer added 2 goals and 2 assists.
NRHS got off to a great start and at the 7:56 mark of the first quarter led 4-0. But North Reading took their foot off the gas and surrendered four goals to close the quarter. By the end of one the Hornet lead was down to 6-4.
Fortunately the second quarter was a completely different story for the good guys. They absolutely blitzed the Vikings with an almost unheard of 10-1 scoring run and by halftime the Hornets held a monstrous 16-5 lead. The second half was a formality and NRHS cruised to victory.

Crush Lynnfield, 18-4
The Hornets traveled to Lynnfield for a Friday night tilt and thanks in large part to Mike Sheridan’s 8 goals, absolutely annihilated the Pioneers by a score of 18-4.
Kevin Murphy pumped in 5 goals and 3 assists while Sean Fagen chipped in with 2 goals and 4 assists. Senior defenders Jake Bedell, Kyle Bythrow and Nick Arena played exceptional in front of junior goalie Matt Supple holding the Pioneers to just four goals.
Sink Whalers 14-6
NRHS extended their winning streak to a stupendous seven games and punched their ticket to the state tourney thanks to a 14-6 victory over the Nantucket Whalers on Sunday.
Mike Sheridan capped his impressive week with 6 more goals and Kevin Murphy scored 4 goals and 3 assists. Sean Fagen added to his terrific numbers as well with 2 goals and 5 assists.
