ASHLAND — The Hornets traveled to Wakefield on April 16 to take on the Warriors and suffered a lopsided 16-8 defeat.
Senior captain Mike Sheridan was the leading scorer for NRHS with three goals. Sophomore Jake DiNapoli and senior Jay Schille both chipped in with one goal and one assist. Sophomore Sal Schille and senior Travis Spencer finished off the scoring for North Reading with one goal apiece.

Cruise past Bedford 15-7
The Hornets returned to the road on Thursday for a matchup against the Bedford Buccaneers and got back in the win column with a much needed 15-7 victory.
Senior captain Sean Fagen and Jay Schille were terrific as they both had three goals and two assists. Jake DiNapoli and Mike Sheridan recorded three goal hat tricks and Travis Spencer potted two goals.
“Offensively we were able to get balanced production from our attack and midfield. Sean Fagen did what he always does. He is so consistent for us, we probably take it for granted,” said head coach Chuck Campobasso. “Mike Sheridan and Travis Spencer played well at midfield but the reemergence of Jay Schille as he recovers from injury has been fun to watch. I love watching him play his game.”
Escape Ashland with 14-13 OT victory
Mike Sheridan’s overtime goal propelled the Hornets to their 14-13 victory over the Ashland Clockers on Saturday.
Sean Fagen was outstanding once again with a scintillating five-goal, five-assist performance. Travis Spencer and Jake DiNapoli potted three goals apiece and Sal Schille added two goals.
North Reading had a 9-4 lead at halftime and held a 13-7 advantage at the start of the fourth quarter. But NRHS let the lead slip away as Ashland scored six goals in the fourth and tied the game with about 30 seconds to go in regulation. Fortunately though, Sheridan scored the OT winner to give the Hornets the win.
