NORTH READING — It was Senior Night on Tuesday evening for the North Reading High boys’ soccer team as they hosted Hamilton-Wenham.

Before the game, the 12 Hornet seniors, along with two mangers were honored.

The game ended up in a scoreless tie.

With that result, the Hornets’ record went to 14-0-2 overall and 13-0-2 in the Cape Ann League.

“They have a very good team and are athletic,” said Hornets head coach Mark Bisognano, as the Generals went to 10-4-2 overall and 10-4-1 in the CAL.

Most of the action took place in the midfield area as each school had just a couple of opportunities to score.

Hornet goalie, Cam Parrett, made four saves to go to 14-0-2 in net as he posted his 10th shutout of the year.

On Oct. 17, the Hornets steamrolled Georgetown, 7-1, on the road.

“They have a young team that might be decent in a couple of years,” said Bisognano, about the Royals.

North Reading scored four times in the opening half and three more times in the second before the Royals got a late goal to avert the shutout.

Davi Leao had two goals while Finn Rodger had one goal and two assists to lead the attack.

Max Gulino chipped in one goal and one assist as well.

The other three goals were scored by Matt Fleury, Nico Lopes and Connor Gattuso.

For Gattuso, it was the senior’s first-ever varsity goal.

Parrott started in net and made one save playing the first 70 minutes. Freshman Dylan O’Driscoll mopped up in net the final 10 minutes and turned back one shot in his varsity debut.

On Oct. 24, the Hornets visit Newburyport at 4:30 p.m. in their final league game of the season. North Reading is looking for the season sweep over the Clippers as they won the first match-up, 2-1, back on Sept. 24.

The Hornets, who clinched the CAL Kinney Division title when Lynnfield lost to Essex Tech last Saturday, wrap up the regular season on Oct. 29 as they welcome Andover at 4:45 p.m.

The Hornets entered this week seeded 5th by the MIAA in the Division 3 power rankings.

The seedings for the tournament will come out on Nov. 1.
