FITCHBURG — This past weekend, three standout athletes from the North Reading High School boys’ track and field team represented the Hornets at the prestigious MIAA Meet of Champions held at Fitchburg State. Reserved for the top 24 athletes in each event across the entire state, the meet is a showcase of the highest level of high school track and field competition in Massachusetts.
North Reading was represented by Otto Indelicato in the shot put, Leo Romanski in the discus and Kieran Miller in both the 100-meter dash and the long jump.
Indelicato, fresh off a state title in the Division 5 championship, held his own in a stacked field, finishing 17th in the shot put.
Romanski capped off a strong junior season with a 16th-place finish in the discus.
Miller, one of the most versatile athletes in the state, took 10th in the long jump and also competed in the 100-meter dash.
While no podium finishes came from the weekend, simply qualifying for the Meet of Champions is an accomplishment in itself—a mark of consistent excellence throughout the season.
This meet concludes what has been a remarkable season for the Hornets, filled with league titles, personal bests, and top performances across the board. With key returners like Romanski and Indelicato set to lead the team next year, the future remains bright for North Reading track and field.
