The Hornets won the three sets, 25-19, 25-10, and 27-25.
“We have gotten off to a great start this year,” said Hornets head coach Mike Milone. “We are playing solid on offense and defense. We are playing on our system and we have had a balanced attack.”

In the 2025 opener on Sept. 2, the Hornets beat visiting Salem, 3-0, in a non-league match.
North Reading won the three sets, 25-6, 25-20 and 25-18.
“We came out of the gates aggressive,” said Milone. “We were able to do what we wanted to in that match.”
