Hearing to cut public shade trees Aug. 19

NORTH READING — The Department of Public Works is holding a public tree hearing on Thursday, Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. to consider the cutting of public shade trees at 217 Haverhill Street near the corner of Foley Drive.

These trees are located within the public right of way and the DPW believes they obstruct “a clear line of sight to view oncoming traffic when turning onto Haverhill Street from Foley Drive, causing a traffic concern.” Those who would like their opinion known on the topic are invited to attend the public hearing to state their case and ask questions.

The in-person public hearing will be held in Room 14 at Town Hall, 235 North Street, in accordance with MGL Ch. 87, Section 3.

Refer questions to DPW Director Joe Parisi.
