9th annual Martin’s Pond Community Pride Scholarship

NORTH READING — The 9th annual Martin’s Pond Community Pride Scholarship has extended its deadline to midnight on Sunday, May 11. At least one $500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from the Martin’s Pond neighborhood toward the pursuit of college or trade school. In the spirit of community pride, neighbors fully fund this award.

The scholarship will be awarded based on a submitted essay based on answering one of four prompts provided in the application.  Essays are judged based on honesty, integrity, thoughtfulness, respect for the environment, and neighborhood pride.  Writing form may also be used to judge essays.  Seniors can attend NRHS, area vocational high schools, private schools, or be home schooled.

Applicants must submit an application along with their  500 to 1,000 word essay.  Email janet62@comcast.net for an application or visit Facebook.com/MartinsPond where an application is posted. The application will explain who is eligible and how to apply.
