NORTH READING — Would you like to be a North Reading Police Office?
The North Reading Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for non-Civil Service, full-time police officer positions. Candidates should be highly motivated, self-disciplined and possess a community policing philosophy.
Interested candidates must register for and pass the upcoming written entrance examination this Saturday, September 13 at 9 a.m. to be held at North Reading High School.
Candidates will have up to three hours to complete the examination.
Candidates must be a minimum of 21 years of age with a high school diploma or GED equivalent, hold a valid Massachusetts driver’s license, and be able to obtain a Massachusetts Firearms Class A LTC.
Candidates will be required to successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation, medical examination, psychological exam, and successfully graduate from a Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) Basic Police Officer Academy. Additionally, candidates must have the ability to become a certified Massachusetts Police Officer through POST (e.g. no felony convictions, no illicit drug use, etc.).
