LYNN — The Lynn Knights of Columbus, in partnership with the North Reading Knights of Columbus, recently named North Reading resident and Lynn Council member and Past Grand Knight John J. Verrengia the 2025 Italian Knight of the Year.
Verrengia was recognized for generously dedicating his time and energy to both the North Reading and Lynn chapters of the Knights of Columbus. He regularly prepares and cooks meals for the North Reading Knights of Columbus’ free community breakfasts held at St. Theresa’s Church. Additionally, Verrengia actively supports the Lynn chapter by volunteering at its weekly Bingo program, which raises funds for a variety of charitable organizations across the North Shore, including the North Reading Food Pantry.
The award was presented to Verrengia by Lynn Knights of Columbus Grand Knight Michael Scarlata and North Reading Grand Knight Bruce E. Farnham, both of whom also reside in North Reading.
