North Reading Town Day is this Sunday

NORTH READING — The weather prediction is looking perfect for North Reading Town Day, happening Sunday, September 14 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Ipswich River Park.

Hosted by the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce, this year’s will feature more than 110 booths offering a variety of tasty food and packed with information and games from local organizations. The all new Kids Zone is being added near the five inflatable structures and will include local organizations with more fun activities for children.

All events are free, paid for by the booth vendors, local businesses who sponsor this family-friendly event, and through Chamber Membership and fundraising.

The Chamber is also accepting food donations for the North Reading Food Pantry at the Chamber’s booth near the entrance to the vendor booth area. While you are there, offer a silent auction bid on a package of over $400 in gift cards from local restaurants like Hopothecary Ales, Nan’s Cafe, Horseshoe Grille, Bunratty Tavern, Teresa’s, Post 1917, Red Heat Tavern and more.

Two local companies have committed major financial support for this event. The Savings Bank and Route 128 Honda are the Chamber’s Signature Sponsors, with Little Treasures Schoolhouse and 20 other local businesses committing additional funds to keep Town Day free and affordable for families.

Food options this year will feature both old and new vendors, offering pizza, mac ‘n cheese, BBQ, hot dogs, hamburgers, tacos, ice cream, frozen slush, boba tea and more.

TOWN DAY ACTIVITIES

•Free pony rides, sponsored by Service Pumping and Drain

•Music provided by Time of You Life Entertainment and Alpha Omega Studios

•Demonstrations from dance schools East Coast Dance, O’Shea’s Irish Step Dancers, and the North Reading School of Ballet

•Martial Arts demonstrations from Cervizzi’s Academy of Martial Arts and Traditional Academy of Martial Arts

•Live musical performance from NRHS award-winning a cappella group, NOTEorious

•Kayak Paddling Clinic with the Ipswich River Watershed Association

•Soccer, spin art, carnival games, hoola-hoop, ribbon dancing, bounce houses, and more in the Kid Zone

IF YOU ARE COMING TO TOWN DAY

•Gates open at 11 a.m.

•IRP has limited parking. A free shuttle is available from the High School between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

•Handicap and limited mobility parking spaces will be available at IRP

•If you live nearby, walk over or ride a bike!

•Bring money for food and to purchase crafts from local artists.

•Bring a food donation to the Chamber Booth for the North Reading Food Pantry

•Stop by the Chamber booth to enter the Silent Auction

•Take note of the businesses sponsoring Town Day and show your appreciation by shopping locally
