A quiet man who enjoyed coaching youth sports and brewing a great cup of coffee
NORTH READING — David W. Acciavatti, 59, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on July 29, 2023. Born in Beverly on September 7, 1963, he was the son of the late Mario and Josephine Acciavatti.
David was a quiet man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He was involved in coaching youth sports, where he believed everyone should play; solving puzzles, the harder the better; and watching many sporting events. He really enjoyed his specialty coffee beans and sharing his wealth of knowledge in brewing a great cup of coffee. Friends would bring back coffee beans from their travels.
His first job was at the Beverly Times, where his skills for printing and delivery logistics led him through his career path. He was able to obtain his CDL-A license, which gave him the freedom to travel New England, delivering printed materials. He was using his driving skills at FedEx Ground at the time of his illness, which ended his career.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, son, Raymond, and daughter, Tracy, and her family. He will be missed by his sister Janet and her husband Dana, brothers Michael and his wife Carol, Robert and his partner Sharon, and Richard and his wife Paula along with several nieces and nephews, and Betty and Zoey, his dogs, who he loved and found comfort.
Funeral services will be private at the family’s request.
