Held several patents; enjoyed traveling, square dancing and a good joke
NORTH READING — George W. Parsons, Jr., a longtime resident of North Reading, passed away suddenly at his home on May 11, 2025.
He was 93 years of age.
George was born in Everett, Massachusetts on February 26, 1932, the son of the late George W. and Clara A. (Farnell) Parsons.
George sang in the choir for a local church. He worked for more than 30 years as a mechanical design engineer and held several patents.
He traveled extensively with Barbara, from camping to cruises. They also square danced together.

Parsons and his wife Nicole of Haymarket, Virginia; Judy Parsons-Kerins and her husband Craig of Brookline, N.H.; and the late Barbara Keene. He was the loving grandfather of six, great-grandfather of four, and cherished brother of Jean Mead.
A funeral service celebrating George’s life was held on Friday, May 16 at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home, 25 Sanborn St., Reading, at 11 a.m. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in North Reading. To leave an online message of condolence please visit: www.douglassfuneralhome.com.
