Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend
NORTH READING — Joan (Bavuso) Dineen, a longtime resident of North Reading, died peacefully on January 31, 2023 with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of David Dineen for 64 years.
Born in Winchester on February 11, 1940, Joan was the daughter of the late Sabatino (Sam) and Mary (Leonardis) Bavuso. She was educated in Woburn and a graduate of Woburn High School.
In 1958 she married David Dineen. They started their life together in Woburn and raised two sons. Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
For many years, Joan worked at Ma/Com in Burlington.
In addition to her husband David, Joan is survived and will be deeply missed by Andrew Dineen and his wife Gayle of Charlestown and Doug Dineen and his wife Kelly of Woburn. She was the adored grandmother of Matthew and his wife Stephanie of Chelmsford, Michael and his husband Jay of Burlington, Megan of Lynn and Raymond of Charlestown and great-grandmother “Gigi” to Brett and Paige. She was the beloved aunt of Bill Hernon of West Newbury and Laura Kenny of Ohio and the dear sister of the late Anne Hernon and her husband Bill.
Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading, on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
A Memorial Service will immediately follow the visiting hours at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, North Reading.
