Patricia LaFarge, 63

Enjoyed music concerts, the beach and loved being an aunt

MELROSE — Patricia A. LaFarge, a resident of Melrose, formerly longtime of Malden, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 3 at the age of 63. Patti leaves behind a legacy of resilience and unwavering love for her family.

Born in Malden on May 10, 1962, Patricia was one of five daughters and was raised in a close-knit home with strong family bonds. She was educated in Malden and at just 19 began her professional life with the Division of Employment Security where she dedicated herself to helping others find meaningful work, an early indication of her generous and compassionate nature.

Known affectionately as “Patti,” she was a spirited and independent woman, strong-willed yet kind-hearted. Despite facing significant health challenges throughout her life, she met each one with courage, faith and eventually, a smile.

Patti found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved attending live music concerts, whether with her family or even solo. She treasured time at the beach and cherished outings with her sisters and mother, creating many lasting memories. Among her greatest joys was being an aunt. Patti had a deep devotion and love for her nieces and nephews whom she doted on with thoughtful gifts and generous times spent together.

A woman of strong faith, Patti was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Hearts Church in Malden where she was raised and later St. Mary’s Church in Melrose.

Patricia will be deeply missed, but her enduring kindness, generous heart and deep devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those she loved. May she rest in eternal peace.

Patti was the cherished daughter of the late Leo C. LaFarge and Edna G. (Duggan) LaFarge. Beloved sister of Judy Sinclair and her loving companion Richard Shafner of Lynnfield; Carol A. Ciacera and her husband Charles Ciacera of Middleton; Diane M. Alexander and her husband Glenn Alexander of Reading; and the late Linda M. LaFarge. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Patti was also the former wife of the late Frank Perry.
