Perley Burrill, 87

Former gas station co-owner was active in community

LYNNFIELD — Perley G. Burrill, 87, of Lynnfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025 at the Veterans Home at Chelsea.

Perley was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Trepanier) Burrill, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage before her passing in 2020.

He was born in Swampscott on Jan. 17, 1938, and was the cherished son of the late Perley and Lydia (Goodick) Burrill.

Perley graduated from Wakefield High School before furthering his education at Butera Sign School. Afterwards, he took over the family business, Perley Burrill Gas Station, alongside his brothers.

A dedicated service member, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves, where he served from 1956 to 1988, including two years of active duty overseas during the Vietnam War. Throughout his life, he remained deeply involved in his community, holding memberships in the Lynnfield Masonic Lodge, the Lynnfield Elks Club and the U.S. Coast Guard Chiefs Association.

Perley is survived by his son, James Burrill and his wife, Tara, of Lynnfield; his grandchildren Hailey Burrill and William Arsenault Jr.; his brother, Robert Burrill of Lynnfield; his sister, Sylvia Venuti of Lynnfield; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sadly, in addition to his parents and wife, Perley is predeceased by his brother, Phil Burrill.

His services were held privately.
