ON FLAG DAY, June 14, Addison Stetson, a 2025 graduate of North Reading High School, was awarded the North Reading Republican Town Committee’s $1,000 essay scholarship award. It was held at the war memorial on the Town Common where Addison read her heartfelt essay on “What the American Flag Means to Me.” She was also awarded official citations from the State Senate issued by state Sen. Bruce Tarr and the State House of Representatives issued by Rep. Brad Jones Jr. Among those attending the event were (from left): Michael Scarlata of the Mass. GOP State Committee, Jeff Yull (NRRTC Chair), her father Andrew Stetson, recipient Addison Stetson, her mother Melissa Stetson, Irene Yull (NRRTC Scholarship Chair), and state Senator Bruce Tarr.
