Superbowl trips are a family affair

32 years after 4 Raiders charged to Foxboro, their sons return

HISTORY IS remade as two generations of Melrose High School Red Raiders take the trip to Foxboro for Super Bowl. Members of the last MHS football team to go to Super Bowl in 1982 will see five of their sons make the trip this Saturday. They are: (pictured from left) John Mercer and son Zack, John McLaughlin and son Brian, Chris Hickey and son Jack, and George Karelas and sons Jake (l) and Luke (r). Melrose will take on Dartmouth on Sat. at 6:00 p.m. at Gillette Stadium and hope to earn their first Super Bowl victory.
