Register now for Melrose Middle School Football

Registration is open for Melrose Middle School Football. The varsity team is for grades 7 and 8 and the junior varsity team is for grades 6 and 7. The teams will play grade-based football with no weight restrictions and it is open to all skill levels.

The teams will play 8 regular season games in the Eastern Massachusetts Middle School Football League.

The preseason will begin on Aug. 18. Practices will be held after school (Mon–Wed, 3pm–5pm). All home games will be played at Fred Green Field on Wednesday or Thursday evenings. All practices and games will be played during the week. Bus transportation to and from away games will be provided.

Locker room facilities will be provided. Players will have the option to participate in a supervised, preseason and in-season strength and conditioning program at MHS.

This program is endorsed by MHS head football coach Tim Morris, is run by the Melrose Recreation Department and sponsored by the Friends of Melrose Football.

The Melrose Middle School Football Friday Night Lights free clinic will be taking place on July 25, Aug. 1 and Aug. 8. This is a free clinic for all Middle School Football Players, focusing on skill development and run by the Melrose High football coaching staff. Registration can be found at www.cityofmelrose.org/recreation. Separate registration is required to attend the Friday Night Lights Clinic. If a player is not registered for Middle School Football, the Friday Night Lights clinic will cost $75.
