MELROSE — The Melrose High Robotics Team, Red Hawk Robotics, and the Revere High NUTRONS are co-hosting a brand new event, The Nor’Easter. It will be a new off-season FIRST robotics invitational competition located right here in the city of Melrose.
With 16 elite teams, it makes this event one of the top five strongest fields in all of the U.S., happening this month, Saturday, September 20.
These teams will compete in the 2025 robotics game, REEFSCAPE, with challenges themed around the ocean, bringing a perfect storm of innovation, engineering and teamwork to Melrose.
The Nor’Easter has four pre-formed alliances of four robots that will stick together throughout the day to compete head to head against each other in high-energy matches to determine the true champion!
The Nor’Easter matches will be held at Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School gym alongside the robot pits in the Melrose High School Marcoux Gym, where the teams make real-time robot repairs and maintenance between matches. Admission is completely free to all. Happening 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 20; come by to witness the storm and support our local team!
