WAKEFIELD — Zacchaeus Zivan of Troop 701 in Wakefield recently completed his Eagle Scout project by building a “Little Free Food Pantry” at First Parish Congregational Church. The outdoor structure provides non-perishable food and basic supplies to anyone in need and is accessible around the clock.

Zacchaeus led the design, construction and installation of the pantry with help from volunteers and support from the church. The project was inspired by a desire to give back to the local community in a way that would have a lasting, practical impact.

He extends his thanks to First Parish, Troop 701 and everyone who contributed time, materials or donations. With this project, Zacchaeus fulfills the final requirement for the rank of Eagle Scout; the highest honor in Scouting.

The pantry is now open and accepting donations. As Wakefield’s newest Little Free Food Pantry, the community is encouraged to stop by, contribute if they can and help spread the word.
