Six Warriors named girls’ track All-Stars

LILY SALLEE, QUIN WILCOX, ELLA FERRELL, KYLER DENNISON, ABBY HARTIGAN, and TALIA GALANTE

WAKEFIELD — The Wakefield High girls’ track team had six Middlesex League All-Stars this season: senior Lily Sallee (800 meters), junior Abby Hartigan (100 meters), junior Kyler Dennison (100 meter hurdles), sophomore Quin Wilcox (1 mile), freshman Ella Ferrell (2 mile) and freshman Talia Galante (long jump).

The Warriors went 3-2 in the regular season and went on to have multiple impressive performances in the postseason. 

At the Middlesex League Meet, Sallee took 3rd in the 800, Hartigan got 4th in the 100, Ferrell was 4th in the 2 mile, Wilcox got 5th in the mile and Dennison was 5th in the 100 hurdles.

At the Div. 4 state championship meet, Wilcox broke the school record in the 800 with a time of 2:17.57 to place 2nd overall. She also took 2nd in the mile (5:08). Ferrell took 4th in the 2 mile in 11:23.44. 

Wilcox went on to break her own school record in the 800 with a 2:14.48 at the Meet of Champions while also coming within a second of the school record in the mile with a 5:02.53.
