Temporary library closes March 22
The interim Beebe library location on West Foster Street will close at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, and the renovated library on West Emerson Street is set to open at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15. Public forum on potential override proposals March 26
The mayor’s Financial Task Force, as part of its work developing proposals for Proposition 2 1⁄2 override question(s) to be considered in November 2025, will hold a public forum on Wednesday, March 26 at 7 p.m. at the Melrose High School Learning Commons, 360 Lynn Fells Parkway. All residents and community stakeholders are invited and encouraged to attend to share their ideas and input on the scale, scope and objectives of potential override questions. Cultural Council grant applications due March 28
The Melrose Cultural Council (MCC) has opened a second round of project funding for community-oriented arts, cultural, and interpretive sciences events and programming with broad public benefit and impact. The latest grant application cycle opened February 17 and the deadline to apply is Friday, March 28. The MCC will provide direct grants of $250 to $1,000 to a variety of projects that appeal to the diverse population and cultures within Melrose — reaching adults of all ages, youth, children, families, and seniors.
