GEORGETOWN — Theresa H. (Hanright) Dodge, 89, of Georgetown, formerly of Wakefield and Peabody, died peacefully at her residence on Saturday, June 1, 2019 with her family at her side. She was the wife of the late Ralph E. Dodge who died in 1979.
She was born in Wakefield on March 2, 1930, the daughter of the late Thomas E. and F. Ada (Bilton) Hanright and was raised there graduating from Wakefield High School in 1948. She later resided in Saugus for 16 years and had been a Staff Sgt. of the ladies auxiliary VFW Post 2346. She loved to sew and cook and was active in the senior center in Wakefield and also served as a volunteer in Georgetown senior center. Following the death of her husband she moved to N.H. and later in Maine where she was manager at Russell Ladies Apparell in Sanford, Maine for 10 years retiring in 1992. She later resided in Peabody before moving to Georgetown four years ago.
She is survived by her five children, Karen M. Di Sabatino and her husband James of Georgetown, Marla Dodge and Judith Doherty both of Peabody, Michael T. Dodge and his wife Rose of Peabody and R. Steven Dodge of Derry, N.H.; a brother George F. Hanright of Berwick, Maine, 11 grandchildren, 8.5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William C. ,Thomas E. and John F. Hanright and Mary F. Lynch.
A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, 16 Church St., Peabody at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
