NORTH READING — Water and trash bills mailed this past week included an incorrect date for assigning interest amounts due. If you were up-to-date on your payments for the prior three quarters, this interest amount can be ignored and you should pay only the amount indicated in the “Current Charges” box. (The original due date was June 19, but since it is also Juneteenth, a legal federal holiday, the due date was changed to June 20. When the bills were printed, an inadvertent one-day charge for interest not yet due was generated.)
Bills may be paid via mail, in person at the Town Hall, or online through the town’s website at https://www.northreadingma.gov/tax-collector-treasurer/pages/pay-bills (the online billing system has already been updated to remove interest that is not yet due).
Bills must be paid by the due date of Friday, June 20 to avoid interest charges. Those with any questions may call the North Reading Water Department at 978-357-5260.
