Tree Committee launches ‘Squeaky on a Mission’

LYNNFIELD — Squeaky the Squirrel is on a mission and he needs residents’ help on his Great Green Quest.

Townspeople are invited to join Squeaky as he traverses all across Lynnfield, from hill to dale in search of a world from the past and how to lead us into the future. The Lynnfield Tree Committee, in partnership with the Lynnfield Public Library, Lynnfield Art Guild and Conservation Commission, invite people to explore the community’s natural outdoor spaces.

“Along this journey, Squeaky discovers special places and hidden treasures that guide him on his mission,” stated Tree Committee Chair Jane Bandini in a press release. “Appropriate for all ages, adults will find it informative and children can simply have fun. Setting your own pace, the walking portion can be completed as a leisurely stroll that can include further exploration of our woodlands. Take your first steps to helping Squeaky on his Great Green Quest from our website, LynnfieldTreeCommittee.org. From there, a link will start you on the first clue of discovery. On this mission, you will need a phone or device to scan a QR code that leads to further clues.”

Squeaky will set out on his mission starting Aug. 1 and it will end on Aug. 21.

“At the last location, there will be a gift and a chance to win a tree,” stated Bandini. “Everyone is welcome to experience their own connection to green and the quest for a healthy planet.”
