MELROSE — The City of Melrose is sharing the following updates for the upcoming week:
Expanded City Yard schedule
With additional funding available for the Public Works overtime and City Yard budgets thanks to voter support in the November 4 election, the City of Melrose is pleased to announce added City Yard weekend hours this fall. The Melrose City Yard is open for recycling and yard waste drop- off EVERY SATURDAY from Nov. 15 to Dec. 6 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Yard is also open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Fall Street Sweeping ongoing
The Melrose Department of Public Works has released the schedule for its Fall Street Sweeping Program, which will continue all month. On Nov. 17 and 18, DPW will sweep Ward 3 (the neighborhoods of Melrose around West Wyoming Avenue and West Foster Street), and on Nov. 19 and 20, DPW will sweep Ward 1 (Northwest portion of the City, also known as the Melrose Highlands). Review the sweeping schedule and a City map at www.cityofmelrose.org/sweeping and make sure your car is not parked on the street on your neighborhood’s scheduled days.
Energy Bill Clinic Nov. 19
Do you need help with your energy bills? Drop in for a consultation with Melrose’s energy coach, James Horne, for assistance in applying for National Grid Discount Rates and Fuel Assistance, reviewing your bill for overbilling, enrolling in the municipal electrical aggregation plan, and learning about energy incentives. The Malden/Melrose Bill Clinic will be held 3 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 19 at In/Out Convenience, 463 Lebanon St., Malden.
