MELROSE — The city of Melrose is sharing the following updates for the upcoming week:
Biennial water flushing & hydrant testing
The City’s 2025 flushing program began this month and will continue until late October. During flushing in your neighborhood, your water may temporarily discolor or contain sediment. This program is undertaken to improve water quality and to test and operate our water system’s valves and hydrants. Flushing generally occurs between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the scheduled day.
Please check www.cityofmelrose.org/flushing or call the Department of Public Works (DPW) at 781-665-0142 to view the daily list of streets to be flushed. The website will be updated daily on flushing days to reflect the completed streets and the following day’s anticipated schedule. Some streets may require re-listing for completion, so visit the website to check if your street is completed. Please call the DPW at 781-665-0142 if you have a special medical situation we should be aware of. We thank you for your patience during our biennial flushing program.
