Enjoyed the simple things in life
READING — Richard Francis Smith III, age 63 of Reading passed away peacefully at home with his children by his side on September 27.
Richard was Born in Lynn on January 21, 1961. He was the son of the late Richard F Smith Jr and Marion F Smith (Costello). Richard spent most of his childhood living in Wakefield and Acton before moving to Reading. He graduated from Acton-Boxborough High school and later attended Middlesex Community College and Salem State Univerity.
Richard was a very devoted and loving father to his two children Kevin Smith and Kendra Smith-Foster. His favorite past time was driving down to South Carolina to visit them. He also leaves behind three grandsons: Everett Foster, Carson Foster and Jack Smith; his sister Jean Hurrell (Smith); brother in law Philip Hurrell and two nieces Marie Hurell and Kara Hurrell.
He was a wonderful father, grandpa and person. He was always available to lend an ear or offer support in any way that he could. He enjoyed the simple things in life and never complained. Everyone that knew him enjoyed his kind and gentle demeanor. Richard was very loved and will be missed terribly by his family.
