
WATERTOWN — The Wakefield High boys’ cross country team defeated Watertown last week. The Warriors placed 25 runners in front of Watertown’s first runner.
Devin DeBerardinis got the win with a time of 18:20. Max Viselli was 2nd in 18:26. Alec Buonopane-Cohen placed 3rd in 18:46. Noah Morrisseau was 4th in 19:05. Ryan Paige was 5th in 19:05. Sean Marra was 6th in 19:06. Zach Richardson was 7th in 19:06 to finish the scoring.
Wakefield competed in the Amherst Invitational held at UMass on Sept. 20. Alec Buonopane-Cohen placed 15th overall and DeBerardinis took 18th. The varsity team finished 5th overall while the JV took 2nd and the freshman were 4th.
The Warriors traveled to Stoneham yesterday after press time. A full story will appear later this week.
