Boys’ track team impresses at Coaches Invitational

LEXINGTON — Over the weekend, the Wakefield High boys’ track and field team competed in the MSTCA Coaches Invitational at a rain-soaked Lexington High track.  

Brody Wyatt lowered his own record in the 400 meter hurdles to 57.61 to place 4th overall. Evan Buonopane-Cohen placed 8th with a time of 60.17.    Aidan Martin ran a time of 64.93.  

In the shot put, Frankie Sullivan had a throw of 45’3.25 and was 7th overall. Carter Jefferson had a throw of 36’6.5.

Sullivan also threw the discus 116’4” to place 16th. 

Devin DeBerardinis ran a big personal best of 10:13.84 In the 2 mile, placing 14th overall. Max Viselli ran a personal best of 10:17.36 to take 15th.   Marcello Caruso ran a time of 11:14.

In the mile, Brandon Nett ran a time of 4:43.97.   Andrew Nett ran a season best of 4:44.56. Alec Buonopane-Cohen ran a season best of 4:48.83.    Jacob Ciriello ran a time of 4:55.39. George Palmer ran 4:59.88.   

In the high jump, JaMauri Belmer cleared 5’8” to place 7th.  

In the long jump, Aiden Jones jumped 20’3 and was 5th overall.

In the 110 meter hurdles, Wyatt placed 10th with a time of 16.24 seconds. Martin finished in 18.62 seconds.

Ethan Mezikofsky ran a time of 2:02.35 in the 800 meters. Aidan Burd ran a time of 2:05.80.  

In the 400 meters, Isaac Melo ran a 53.02 and was 14th. Jackson Conley ran a 53.37 and was 16th overall.

The undefeated Warriors face off against undefeated Burlington tomorrow, 4 p.m. at Burlington High to determine the Freedom Division championship.
