WAKEFIELD — Make a night of it! The Creatures & Critters Art Show, the PAWS Small Works Fundraiser and Pumpkins on the Plaza.
The Arts Collaborative of Wakefield and WMHSVisual Arts Exhibit continues this week at the Albion Cultural Exchange. Gallery hosts Josh and Kim Polster, Lori DelGenis and Jared Adelman will be on hand to welcome visitors on Thursday, October 26 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. With well over 200 original works of art, the show features a wide variety of media made by local adult and teen artists. It’s a celebration of the natural world in all its forms and a testament to the talent within our community. Creatures & Critters will delight animal lovers of all ages representing creatures that walk, wiggle, fly, swim or slither and also offer the community a chance to support Wakefield’s local artists. All are welcome.
In conjunction with the exhibit, the PAWS Small Works Fundraiser features 5×7 artwork available for sale on a first come first served basis with all proceeds donated to PAWS of Wakefield. For only $10, visitors to the show can select a small work, pick it off the wall and take it home. This ACW fundraiser makes it possible for you to buy some affordable, cool art and help out a worthy animal protection cause in the process.
Also on Thursday night, the community is invited to the WMHS Visual Arts carved pumpkin display, Pumpkins on the Plaza on the steps of the Lucius Beebe Memorial Library. More than 300 intricately carved and illuminated pumpkins crafted by art students, will grace the steps from 6 to 8 p.m.
Your final chance to see the Creatures & Critters exhibit is on Friday, October 27 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. with a closing reception sponsored by the Savings Bank. Look for our next exhibit, Tell Me a Story, coming up in April. For details about joining the ACW or participating in the next show, visit www.artscollaborativeofwakefield.com.
