WAKEFIELD — Doris M. Butler, age 92 of Wakefield died July 17 in Wilmington. She was born in Malden on November 7, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Frank and Kathleen (Crouse) Walton. She was raised in Gloucester and was a graduate of Gloucester High School. For many years she worked in the Accounting Department of GTE Sylvania. She stopped briefly to raise her family and later returned to work until her retirement in 1993. She loved bowling and was involved with many leagues over the years at the Wakefield Bowladrome. She loved camping, her “Collies,” hosting Christmas and Thanksgiving and being a member of the Red Hat Society. She was also an active member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Wakefield. 

She was the beloved wife of the late Francis R. Butler. She was the loving mother of Steven F. Butler of North Reading; David W. Butler of Wakefield; and the late Kevin M. Butler. She was the sister of Arthur Walton of WI; aunt of Corinna McChristian of IL, Katrina Ceci of WI; and great aunt to C. Tyler McChristian. 

Her funeral service will be held in the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Wakefield on Thursday, July 24 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday, July 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. Visit mcdonaldfs.com.
