WAKEFIELD — Wakefield has been developing an updated Housing Production Plan (HPP) Plan. An HPP in Massachusetts is a plan that helps municipalities better understand local housing needs and demand, development constraints and opportunities and a vision for the future preservation of housing and the creation of new housing opportunities. During Advisory Committee meetings and through a public survey, the community shared their thoughts on housing challenges, opportunities and their hopes for this plan.
Wakefield is now hosting community forums to review the proposed goals and strategies created from the community’s feedback. Join us for the opportunity to influence Wakefield’s future.
Forums are held on Wednesday, April 9 from 5 to 6 p.m. in person at the Senior Center, 30 Converse St. or via Zoom and light snacks will be offered and also on April 16 from 12 to 1 p.m., virtual via Zoom. Zoom links are available at wakefield.ma.us/hpp-forums.
When communities encourage homes of many shapes and sizes, it helps to give people of all different preferences, needs, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic and racial backgrounds affordable options allowing people to live and work in Wakefield while keeping prices from shooting out of reach. We need your help to create a plan for housing solutions that contribute toward a healthy, equitable and prosperous Wakefield.
