Cecilia (Cicciu’) Nocera, 85

Wakefield resident co-owned Stoneham Tailor Shop

WAKEFIELD — Cecilia Nocera of Reggio Calabria, Italy and Wakefield passed away on Friday, June 21, 2025 at the age of 85.

Cecilia was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Caterina (Romeo) Cicciu’. She was the wife of the late Rocco Nocera and mother of the late Maria Grazia Nocera. She is survived by her son Giuseppe (Joe) Nocera and his wife Michele of Malden. Cecilia was the loving grandmother to Angelica Josephine Nocera who has brought her endless joy since her birth.

Cecila is survived by her siblings Consolato Cicciu’ and his wife Elisabetta, Rosetta Romeo and her late husband Nino, Anna Clemente and her husband Pasquale, and Santina Pizzimenti and her husband Giovanni. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

She was born and raised in Reggio Calabria, Italy. At 21, after a one-month courtship, she and her husband emigrated to Bronx, NY to start their new life together. They eventually settled in Wakefield, MA. She and her husband owned Stoneham Tailor Shop and had proudly served the local community for over 30 years.

Friends and family are invited to attend visitation from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St., Stoneham on Thursday June 26, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass Celebrating Cecilia’s Eternal Life in Saint Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 11 a.m.  

Burial will follow the mass at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
