George E. Moore, III, 83

Wakefield native lived a rich life

WAKEFIELD — George E. Moore, III, age 83, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading surrounded by his loving family. 

He was born in Wakefield on August 29, 1941, the son of the late George Moore Jr. and Linda (Carbone) Moore. 

He was the beloved husband of Virginia (Gagnon) Moore, with whom he shared 59 wonderful years of marriage. He was the loving father of Darren Moore of Bolton, Gregg Moore of Andover, and Carolyn Moore of Reading. He was the adoring grandfather of Gregg and Erin’s son, Grant Moore.  He is also survived by his sister Barbara Williams and her husband Charles (Charlie) of Reading and their four children (Lynn, Robyn, Gayle, and Charles, Jr.), nine grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He lived a rich life and will be deeply missed.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, MA on Thursday, August 14 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, August 15 at 11 a.m. followed by interment at Forest Glen Cemetery in Reading.
