WAKEFIELD — Victor F. Van Neste, Jr. age 89, a longtime resident of Wakefield passed away at the Care One in Wilmington on May 19.
He was born in Boston on August 26, 1935 and was the son of the late Victor F. and Gunhild M. (Furnstrom) Van Neste. Mr. Van Neste was a Milton High School graduate, Class of 1953. He went on to receive both his bachelor’s and PhD (1974) from Boston University. He was a retired adjunct professor at Fisher College in Boston.
He was the beloved husband of the late Jean E. (Barrett) Van Neste. He is survived by his brother Philip Van Neste (late wife Mary Regina) of Falmouth and his sister Phyllis Pollini (husband John) of CA. He was predeceased by his brother Vincent J. Van Neste (surviving wife Helen) of NC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Wednesday, May 28 at 10 a.m. Interment, Saint Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday, May 27 from 4-7 p.m. Visit mcdonaldfs.com.
