David M. Brehaut, 59

BOYCE, Va. — David Michael Brehaut, 59, of Boyce, Virginia died Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in the Winchester Medical Center in Virginia.

Dave was born February 26, 1962 in Stuttgart, Germany; the son of Joseph W. Brehaut, Col. USA (ret) and Janet E. (Nilsen) Brehaurt of Woodbridge, Va. Being in an Army family, he grew up and attended school in several states and Germany, graduating from Robinson HS in Fairfax, Va. David was a licensed plumber, and also attended Strayer University earning an associate’s degree in business and had certifications in computer and Cyber security. He operated his own home improvement business prior to working in maintenance at Ft. Belvoir and Home Depot.

He is survived by his wife, Vanessa Knight of Boyce, Va.; his parents, formerly from Wakefield; two sisters, Michelle Grevert of Sneads Ferry, N.C. and Andrea Powell (Tom) of Chesapeake, Va.; two nieces, one nephew and three grand nephews. Also survived by his aunt and uncle, Donna Brehaut of Reading and Paul Brehaut of Hyannis. David is pre-deceased by his Wakefield grandparents, Joseph and Doris Brehaut and Albert and Ruth Nilsen.

Services will be held on February 6 in Berryville, Va. A memorial Mass will be celebrated July 24 at St. Joseph Church in Wakefield. Memorial remembrances may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.
