Loving mother and grandmother who taught in San Francisco
MELROSE — Gaetana S. “Gay” Spinale, of Melrose, passed away on December 11, 2022 at the age of 90. She was born in Boston, on August 19, 1932 to the late John and Carmella (Bramante) Orsino. Gay was raised in Boston and graduated from the Trade High School for Girls. She spent many years working as a teacher for children with learning disabilities in San Francisco.
Gaetana was the mother of Ann Barr and her husband Rusty of Wakefield and Marie Jackson and her husband Paul of Woburn. Grandmother of Michelle Maple and Ree Russell. Great-grandmother of Elizabeth, Samuel, and Lucas. Sister of Frank Orsino, Diane Batista, the late Mary Perry, the late Dominick Orsino and the late Joseph Orsino. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 16, from 10-11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 561 Main St., Melrose. A funeral service will be held at the church immediately following the visitation at 11 a.m. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
