WAKEFIELD — Robert “Bob” Hubbard, age 82 of Wakefield, passed away on Saturday, August 2 at his home.
He was born in Winchester on August 19, 1943 and was the son of the late Peter and Edna (Muse) Hubbard.
Bob was raised in Wakefield and attended St. Joseph School. He was a graduate of Wakefield High School, class of 1961. Bob worked in sales for most of his life. From 1985 on he was in the liquor business.
He loved his annual vacations to Antigua. He was an avid sports fan, and was a captain of the Wakefield High School hockey team. Bob kept active by playing in men’s leagues, baseball, softball, and later on picked up golf. Bob was a former president of the West Side Social Club, president of the Council of Clubs, and ran the 4th of July for WSSC.
He was the beloved husband of Patricia Hubbard of Wakefield. He was the loving father of Kimberly Hubbard of Ipswich, Robert Hubbard Jr., of Worcester, Michael DeAngelis and his wife Stacy of Wakefield, and Christopher DeAngelis and his fiancé Karlina Young of Wakefield. Bob was the brother of Richard “Jake” Hubbard, and the late Peter and Thomas Hubbard. He was the grandfather of Rachel Konitzer, Bridget Konitzer, Giana DeAngelis, Alexa DeAngelis, Wesley Young, Domenic DeAngelis, Sophia DeAngelis, and Rocco DeAngelis. He was the great grandfather of Leo Ward. Bob is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition, he is survived by his two fur babies, Boo and Ace, his cat and dog.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday, August 6 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. His funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Thursday, August 7 at 11:30 a.m. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
