WAKEFIELD — Sheila Ferreira Frost, age 71, a lifelong resident of Wakefield died on Monday, October 16 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton surrounded by her loving family.
Sheila was born on Father’s Day, June 15, 1952 in Winchester. She was the daughter of the late John Ferreira and the late Rita (Curley) Ferreira of Wakefield. Sheila was the kindest soul and was known for her love of family and her faith. She attended St. Joseph’s School on Gould St. in Wakefield while growing up and was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Parish.
Sheila married Floyd D. Frost Jr. in 1994. They spent many happy years together until Floyd’s passing in 2013. Along with her parents and husband, Sheila was also predeceased by her step-son Floyd D. Frost III.
Sheila is survived by her brother John Ferreira Sr. and his wife Joyce; sisters: Eileen Ferreira and Geri Ferreira; nephew John Ferreira Jr. and his wife Renee; nephew Daniel Ferreira and niece Caitlin Ferreira. She is also survived by her great niece and nephew Elizabeth and John (“LJ”) Ferreira III, as well as step-children: Ashley Frost and Andrew Frost, along with step-grandchildren. Sheila cherished her nephews, niece, step-children and step-grandchildren, always remembering birthdays, graduations and was always most thoughtful and supportive of their achievements over the years.
Sheila graduated from Wakefield High School in 1970 and Salem State College in 1974. After attending Katherine Gibbs School in Boston, she spent her professional career as an Executive Secretary employed by Epsilon, Digital Equipment Corporation and Hewlett Packard. Upon retiring from HP, Sheila undertook a much-loved part-time position at L.L. Bean in Burlington.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday, October 26 from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service starting at 11 a.m. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
