Two contested races in tomorrow’s election

WAKEFIELD — Only two positions to be decided during tomorrow’s annual Town Election are being contested, as four hopefuls seek to become Town Treasurer and two men square off for one Constable post.

In the first race, Edward F. Dombroski Jr., Andrew McCarthy, Michael J. McLane and Peter McManama are running for the three-year Treasurer seat. Current Town Treasurer John J. McCarthy Jr. is retiring from the job.

In the second contest, incumbent Constable Christian Kevin Lopes is running against Michael Joseph Vitelli.

The election will be held inside the Galvin Middle School from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. A sample ballot appears inside today’s issue of the Daily Item.

Two new faces will be joining the Town Council after tomorrow’s election. Three seats are being filled by Stacy S. Constas, John F. Crisley and incumbent Jonathan Chines.

School Committee members Kevin Fontanella and Thomas F. Markham III will be reelected. Alexander Naumann will join them on the school board.

Brian Donegan is running unopposed for reelection to the Board of Assessors.

Thomas H. Boettcher and Sharon Squillace Daly will be reelected to the Municipal Gas & Light Commission.

Elaine Silva is running unopposed for the Board of Health.

Kristin Maria Weekly will be elected to the five year term on the Planning Board.

Karen Anne Sadler will be elected to the Board of Library Trustees and will join incumbents Christopher M. Barrett and Jeffrey M. Quinn, who are also on the 2025 Town Election ballot.
