WAKEFIELD — Two Wakefield High fall teams saw their seasons come to an end last night. 

The 8th-ranked volleyball team hosted No. 9 Canton for a Div. 2 Round of 16 matchup at the Charbonneau Field House and the visiting Bulldogs came away with a 3-0 victory after three hard-fought sets. 

The 35th-ranked boys’ soccer team traveled out to No. 3 Longmeadow for a D2 first round matchup and took the Lancers to the wire as Longmeadow scored the game’s only goal late in the second half during stoppage time to win it, 1-0.

Volleyball 2025

The No. 14 football team (3-5) will travel to No. 3 Canton (6-2) tomorrow night at 7 p.m. A preview story will appear in tomorrow’s sports section.
